ROCKWOOL Group acquires Wetherby Building Systems

ROCKWOOL Group is a global leader in stone wool products, providing sustainable solutions for the construction industry and beyond. With around 12,000 employees operating in over 40 countries and sales in more than 120 countries, ROCKWOOL Group addresses various challenges such as energy efficiency, fire resilience, and noise pollution.

Wetherby Building Systems is based in Greater Manchester with depots in Glasgow, Watford and Bridgend. Founded in 1998, Wetherby Building Systems as a privately-owned company employs around 78 people and is a market leading supplier of external thermal insulation composite systems in the UK.  

The acquisition aims to strengthen ROCKWOOL Group's position in the UK market and enhance its facade expertise. By transitioning Wetherby Building Systems’s product portfolio to stone wool-based solutions, the acquisition supports the UK’s commitment to improving building energy efficiency, which is crucial for reaching the country’s net zero goal by 2050.
